One of our neighbors let’s his cat out at night. And it’s sort of super friendly? It runs over to us when it sees us and rubs on us, accepts pets. But also randomly hisses while acting very happy. It also tries to follow us inside our stairwell. We had to trick it away from the door so it wouldn’t come inside.

@cordeos if you neighbor is a reasonable person, you may suggest that they keep their cat inside.

Estimates are that cats kill up to 2.4 billion birds per year and have contributed to the extinction of 63 species of birds, mammals, and reptiles.

Cats are an invasive species in North America. In most communities, letting one's cat out is prohibited.
